[back log] The Tale of Despereaux. We loved this book! I read so many reviews that said this would not be a good book to read to a sensitive child. I’m so glad I didn’t listen. Yes, there is sadness, but this book is also filled with hope and bravery. Seeing my sensitive child’s eyes well up with tears wasn’t easy, but also makes me proud that she could care so deeply about a mouse in a story book. ❤️🐭🏰

All About Reading 2 complete! I’ve heard so many

All About Reading 2 complete! I’ve heard so many times that reading just one day clicks. And that’s what happened. One day, she just started reading other books and it has taken off. She’s even reading a head of this level. When she finished this level, she asked me, “Now that I’m reading, does that mean you will no longer read to me?” The answer, no! One of my favorite things this past homeschool year has been our family read aloud time after dinner. I’m looking forward to the books on our list for the coming up year.

Always building. Once again, I didn’t journal much of our homeschool year. So…a backlog of pictures is coming your way. 😬 I’m going to be going through my phone and will be posting pictures from our year so that I can make a photo album using Chatbooks. I’ve really wanted to make yearly homeschool books and I have several friends that use chatbooks with Instagram and say it’s super easy. So I want to give it a try. #homeschool

We read this book last week. I highly recommend it. We read it in 3 sittings, so it’s also a very quick read. It was written in 1944, and yet is still relevant.

We finished The Wizard of Oz a couple of weeks ago

We finished The Wizard of Oz a couple of weeks ago and it was so much fun! A local theater happened to be doing a performance for The Wizard of Oz, so we took Reyla and she loved it! I also started a Book Club with this book. When we finished the book, we all got together to watch the movie at a theater one of our local libraries has available. AND……we got to see a special recording of The Wizard of Oz ballet through Colorado Ballet! It was beautifully done and such a wonderful opportunity. So many memories were created with this one book. ❤️👠
